Street Photography Launch!

I’m so excited to tell you that I’ve finally started with street photography!

The first shot took me a lot of courage but afterwards it has become a lot of fun. I’ve also got my first ‘no’ today but it was totally okay.

Now my language skills and international upbringing come really handy. I can talk to people of all continents and you’ll see shots from Uruguay, Switzerland and Singapore the next couple of months.

The photos above were taken during my first excursion. I didn’t approach any women for some reason (maybe because I thought I’d get rejected more easily by them – and well, I got my first no from a woman today, haha), only men chatting or working.

I did approach other people today, getting out of my comfort zone little by little. I’m really excited to see where this journey will take me.

I decided to post only collages here in WordPress. You can find the whole photo in my Facebook page. Like it if you don’t wanna miss out any photos!

      1. haha I guess you’re right, though I’m a woman with a weird hair colour that might put people off :D

      1. Thanks, Norma :) if I as a rather shy still-teenager can do it, you can do it too! I can highly encourage you do try it: just go out, smile and ask people for a photo and only go home when you got five “yes” and five “no”s! You’ll see it’s not as bad as you think :)

    1. Theses pics are great Monika. In particular the one of the magazine guy is cool. Would look great in black and white. Keep it up, can’t wait to see more.

      1. Thank you very much for your comment! It is very encouraging for someone who’s new to this field. I’m glad you’re following me :) have a great day!

    1. These are lovely! I love the old man in the chair by the car. There’s a story there, I’m sure. And the one of the man with the magazines is framed so beautifully.

      1. Thank you! haha yes, though I don’t think he’d be interested in sharing it. I asked “Good morning sir, can I take a picture of you?” “Hmpf.” … “Em, can I take a picture of you?” “Hmpf”, with a little nod, not looking at me. haha
        Thank you again :))

        1. Haha! Oh what a character! He’s a really perfect subject for a photograph in a lot of ways. It’s good that you took that photo. Did he say anything else once you took the shot?

          1. haha no, he didn’t. I’m actually surprised he agreed to the photo at all since he really wasn’t very communicative!

    1. You are really good at this Monika. These are wonderful photographs. Keep doing. waiting to see more from you :) I love photography!

      1. Thank you very much for your kind and encouraging words :) Photography is really great!
