A Gift For You

My loves, I want to thank you wholeheartedly for your loving words of support. To be honest, I didn’t expect that anyone would actually bother reading my last post when I published it. It’s a mess of desperation and confusion, written for myself while trying to make sense of what was happening in my head. It’s honest and ugly – I figured it wouldn’t be appealing to read.

And yet so many of you didn’t only read it, but also made the effort of leaving comments full of love and compassion. Thank you, thank you, thank you – I can’t repeat it often enough. You are beautiful souls.

Anyways, I’ve been thinking of how I can give it back. I want show my gratitude for the support you’ve given me since I’ve started this blog. Words aren’t enough. I believe in actions.

However, it’s hard to come up with something to give when there are countries or even oceans between us. When we’re only connected by the wonderful World Wide Web. But finally, I’ve got an idea. I’m often very critical of my work, but I guess some photos really aren’t that bad and some of you seem to like it – so I thought I could thank you by sending you prints.

What do you think? Are you interested in getting a free print? (Edit: I’m speaking of rather small prints, don’t freak out because of the costs :D) Please let me know in the comments. Although I’ve never done that before and would have to do some research, I’d really like to give back something – so if you’re interested, I’ll figure out how to organize it ❤️

Below are some photos from past posts, but you can find a much greater variety on my Facebook page (you don’t have to have an account to look at it) or website. I’m considering letting you choose, but for now, just let me know if you’re interested in general 😊

Sending you my love from Switzerland,
your Monika xx

    1. What a beautiful woman you are. This is such a beautiful blog, and it was so nice to be introduced to you through such a caring and giving nature.

I look forward to reading your blogs in the future and getting to know you!

      1. Thank you for your kind words, Lucy :) I’m just trying to give back all the kindness I’m getting here :)

        Take care! x

    1. Prints are a good idea. Yours are very good photographs.
I will pass though: I live in Mexico and the postage would be very expensive.
Plus, the mail takes forever: 2 months on average for Europe. (And I do like the – inner – light of watching photos (yours) on a screen.
      Are you Better now?

      1. Still struggling a bit, but definitely better than when writing the last post – thanks for asking :)
And I’ve just checked the postage – it’s totally okay! I’m not planning to print posters, though, hope there weren’t any misunderstandings :D Anyways, I’d gladly send you something!

        1. haha! Like I said, I now like the “screen” variety, though you might think of publishing a book someday.
And glad you’re better. Next step: “dancing on the street”!

          1. :) I’m actually planning to make a book for myself this year, hopefully I’ll be able to do it!
And thank you – I wish you a lovely weekend!

            1. That would be nice. You could actually print a few copies. Hand-bound. Doesn’t cost much. (Happy sunday)

    1. I feel like I’m a little late to the party and I’m playing catch up, but…

In your latest posts I empathize with you very much. It’s a struggle when you want to express yourself in a medium where you want to say you don’t need anything from anyone, but still need a reaction from someone. Somewhere. In your efforts to find support to go on with what you do you will eventually cross paths with those who are solely selfish and will use you as far as you let them. A string of those will leave you feeling very much alone. I applaud your courage to speak the truth; always say how you feel. To think of ever sensoring yourself would be a disservice to the truth. Always speak your mind.

As far as what you could do? Prints are a nice idea but they can get costly and may not be available to all your followers. Give to those you can, and know that you are supported from many places all over.

      1. Hey Mitch, thank you very much for your thoughtful response! Comments like yours is why I enjoy blogging so much, it’s great to hear what others think of these topics that keep my mind busy.

Well, I wanted to know who’d be interested in prints so I can check out the possibilities :)

        Take care!

      1. Well, the prints won’t be that big and I’d send them from Germany (much cheaper than sending things from Switzerland), so I think it’ll be totally okay :) can I send you something? <3

        1. So strange how it’s more expensive from Switzerland than Germany! They are literally right next to each other. I would love something, I’ll have to think about which one 😊

          1. Isn’t Germany more expensive than Poland too? Switzerland is a super expensive country, just like Norway – keep that in mind when you’re planning your visit! If you come you might just fetch the print, though :D

            1. Probably, but Germany is actually pretty affordable especially compared to Switzerland or Scandinavia. I’m currently trying to plan my Swiss trip! I think April 29-may 3?

    1. Monika, that is a kind and generous offer, but you don’t need to do that. Your words and photography support all of us in so many ways. I’d rather just have a cup of coffee with you in some Alpine coffee shop, talk about life, take a few photos for your blog, and part ways as friends. The memory of that would be work a million pictures, even yours.

      1. Well, I’d like to do it :D receiving love is amazing, but giving is very fulfilling, too. I’m glad you guys seem to appreciate my writing and photos per se, but I do it for myself, and sending (small) prints would be something that’s not selfish for once :) what you describe sounds lovely, of course, but I’m afraid I won’t meet the most of you (but then, you’ll never know), so I think sending something is better than nothing.

    1. Aww man, you’re too kind! But it’s okay if we don’t have the prints of your photos. Like others have mentioned, your lovely blog posts and photos are good enough, and they don’t cost a dime to print out either :) Take care!

      1. haha you guys are too kind, I was hoping for more “oh yes, thank you” ;D well, I’m glad you appreciate my posts and photos! :) you too take care x

    1. So sorry I missed your last post, I just read it now. How are you doing? You really seemed to be struggling in the last post; I hope you’re doing better now.

As for gifts, you’ve already done so much for me by supporting and talking with me. And there was that Christmas card! However, I’m not going to lie: it would be nice to have a print of one of your photos. Not because I need a gift, but because I feel like that would connect us in some way. It would be quite an honor for me to have one of your prints, as long as you can afford it.

Feel free to message me anytime you need support. I’m much busier than I’ve ever been before, but I’ll get back to you as soon as I’m able.

      1. Hey Josh, I’m very sorry for my late reply here! I’d love to send you a print :) have you already chosen the photo you’d like to have? I think I’ll be able to take care of it in the next weeks, I finally have more free time again. I hope you’re doing well, thank you so much for your support! Take care xx

        1. Hey Monika! It’s no problem, I know that we’re both very busy. I actually haven’t chosen the print yet, but since you’ll have time in the next few weeks I’ll try to do so soon!

    1. That is a very thoughtful gesture, Darl, but your pictures are perfect just the way they are. Daria.

    1. You’re inspiring Monika. Such a beautiful gesture. Your photographs are absolutely remarkable! So much talent

    1. The first photo, in the shade near the rocks is beautiful. She reminds me of an emerging butterfly. I have a thing for butterflies. Anyway, thanks for liking today’s post and keep pressing on. You’re very talented!

      1. Thank you very much, Vanessa! :) I love that you’re reminded of an emerging butterfly – I haven’t thought of that, but your association fits very well. I hope you’re doing well, take care! xx

Let me know what you think!
